Acquired hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare bleeding disorder caused by auto antibodies directed towards coagulation factor VIII (FVIII). The estimated incidence of this clinical entity is approximately 1.5 per million population per year. AHA should be suspected in patients who presented with spontaneous bleeding without previous history of bleeding. This disease occurs commonly in the elderly population and it can also be related to pregnancy. The outcome of this condition is potentially fatal. Early diagnosis and treatment is very important. Here, we discuss two cases who presented to our center with bleeding and were subsequently diagnosed as AHA. These two cases shows that good communication between clinicians and laboratory personnel is very important to diagnose such condition.
