Jason So

Dr. So graduated from The University of Hong Kong and received his basic physician training in Queen Mary Hospital and specialist haematopathology training in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. He jointed the Department of Pathology of his alma mater as a clinical associate professor in 2005. He is interested in many aspects of clinical diagnostic pathology, from morphology to genetic analysis and has obtained the European Diploma of Molecular Cytogenetics. He is actively involved in the development of new molecular tests for diagnosis and monitoring of inherited and malignant blood diseases. His special interest is in the genetic basis of inherited haematological disorders including globin and bleeding abnormalities. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He enjoys teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is the coordinator of a postgraduate diploma course in diagnostic and molecular pathology at HKU. He has received the Faculty Teaching Medal of The Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU.
